Artlantis Festival and New Work

So, we're finally getting around to some pictures from this past weekend's festival.
It was the first real art fest we have done and for a first I think it went pretty well.

I took the advice of a fellow local artist that this was a good newbie event and it was...not too crazy busy, but enough to make back my booth fee plus some.  They offered a higher price booth that included the tent, peg board, table and chairs...which was excellent for us since we don't have those things yet.
We also took advice from the same person (thank you Erin) on accepting credit cards and signed up for an online credit processing account and got ourselves an old-school knuckle buster to imprint cards.  This was a good idea which did lead to a few more sales.

Of course our only problem was the oppressive HEAT.  We are talking 90+ degrees of humid, stagnant heat all.day.long.  We both guzzled water by the gallon, but ended up with headaches and were exhausted by the end of the day...but it was still a great experience despite the GA heatwave.

Here are a few photos from the event...taken by none other than the talented Mr. Shearer of Gonzoriffic fame.  Thanks Andy!

We have a few more pics of the entire set up taken by the Mister and we'll probably share those soon as well.

In the flurry of work leading up to the festival, we completed a few new pieces that went up in the All Night Diner shop last night and one that will be going into the Percilla shop soon!  Alas, we did not photograph the cute mini pac-man family we did before it sold, but we'll be making more as soon as our order of hoops arrive.

  1. Your booth looked great! I've never heard of a fair providing all of that stuff before--wish more did.

  2. this stuff is awesome! i wish i could have come :( ...a little far for me though. it's always nice when you have a friend to lend advice so you don't have to learn the hard way. i was thinking of putting up some peg board in my home office.
i always think it might be fun to sell jewelry at a festival, but i don't think i'd be able to sit there while people looked at and potentially criticized my stuff. i need thicker skin.

  4. @ Paige...thank you! It was great, much less work for us even if it was more expensive.

@ Courtney...Thanks! I have been lucky to get som much great advice from the people I have met through the blog and etsy. I think you could do it...your stuff is awesome, and no one was critical to us...at least to our faces.

@ OTF...THANKS! We ♥ Hunter. I have heard about square up, but I have an old phone that I don't think will work with the program. Maybe one day I can afford a newer one ans rock the reader!
